Why this location is so special
Nestled in the heart of the ancient Surrey Hills, our forest bathing location at Harry Edwards Healing Sanctuary is an oasis of calm. Close to London yet world’s apart, it’s a wonderful location to immerse yourself in our in-person Forest Bathing+ training. Founded in 1946 by the world renowned healer Harry Edwards, since then the Sanctuary has been dedicated to promoting health and wellbeing. We spend our time split between Harry Edwards and Newlands Corner, home to some mighty oaks and ancient yew trees, as well as stunning views.

The Surrey Hills AONB The Surrey Hills stretches across a quarter of the county of Surrey and comprise a diverse landscape of hills and valleys, thick woods, open farmland and intriguing sunken lanes, as well as pretty villages and historic market towns. Some of the areas woods have been managed since medieval times and many have distinctive boundaries such as earth banks with laid trees. The Surrey Hills has 4564 hectares of Ancient Woodland that covers nearly 12% of the AONB.

If you wish to extend your stay there is lots to see and do locally, including:
Leith Hill – You’ll feel on top of the world at Leith Hill, built in 1765, it is the second highest point in South East England. Climb all 74 steps of the spiral stairs at Leith Hill Tower and gaze through a telescope, you may even see the Wembley Stadium Arch and the London Eye!
Frensham Little Pond and Great Pond – these ponds were originally created in the 13th century, to supply fish to the Bishop of Winchester and his court, whilst visiting Farnham Castle. Frensham is internationally important for the variety of rare and endangered wildlife that thrive on the heath.

Please note there is no accommodation at Harry Edwards Healing Sanctuary.
However, there are plenty of bed and breakfast and AirBnB options locally. Search in and around the Shere, Surrey. As this is a popular tourist area we advise you book early.
