On June 22nd, we finished the in-person element of our Forest Bathing Guide training at beautiful Hill Farm in Tintern, Wales.
What a journey it has been! Not only was it the hottest training we have led (including one of the hottest days in June recorded), we were also lucky to celebrate the birthday of one of our trainees on the same day as the Summer Solstice, which, for many of us, started with watching the sun rise over the Wye Valley hills, and culminated in a forest gong bath and creating a beautiful forest mandala.
Spending four days immersed in nature, exploring different ways we connect with nature, and taking time to slow down and re-connect… it truly felt like a journey within, and an adventure which many of us will be remembering with gratitude in our hearts to the loving and healing power of nature, as well as to the profound experineces we shared togather as a group.
During the training, some of our trainees reported interesting experiences, including transcendental experience – a feeling as if they were able to see themselves as part of something bigger than themselves. Some even reported a feeling of ‘merging’ with nature – a sense of belonging and feeling part, rather than apart, of nature. These types of experiences of deep nature connection are something we talk about in our forest bathing guide training and even learn ways to facilitate, for ourselves as well as others, in a safe, comfortable way.
